Record of Events Field & Staff, 6th Regiment South Carolina Infantry

Stations are as recorded at the end of the bi-monthly period

Sept. & Oct, 1862, stationed near Culpeper C. H., Va.
Jan. & Feb., 1863, stationed in Camp near Chester Station, Va.
Mar. & Apr., 1863, stationed near Suffolk
May & June, 1863, stationed near Richmond, Va. (Charles City Road)
July & Aug., 1863, stationed near Petersburg, Va.
Aug. 31 to Dec. 31, 1864, stationed in camp near Morristown, Tenn.
September 14th, 1863, the 6th Regt. S.C.Vols., took the cars at Petersburg, Va. to join the Army of Tennessee. On the 20th reached the Rail Road terminus. on the 21st reunited with Hood's Division on the night of October 28th with the rest of Jenkin's Brigade. Made a night attack upon the enemy in Lookout Valley - Lost 16 men. On the night of the 5th of November left Lookout Mountain for East Tennessee. On the 14th Crossed the Tennessee River near Loudon and skirmished with the enemy. On the 15th Commenced the march towards Knoxville. On the 16th Skirmished heavily from Lenore to Campbell's Station - On the 17th reached Knoxville. On the night of the 4th Dec. left Knoxville. On the 15th Skirmished at Bean's Station. On the 23rd reached present camp.
