Thanks, Mrs Dyas.

An interesting side note to Henry Myers, his pension was filed by his widow for his service in the War with Mexico, 1836 I believe. Henry had volunteered under the name of another man because the unit with his buddies had been filled. His widow spent alot of time and money convincing the pension judge that Henry was in fact the man who served with the American army in Mexico.

Henry was a member of the Vicksburg Sharp-Shooters, and as previously mentioned left Corinth as a Lt but was later voted to Capt. by his comrades. From his pension it appears he mustered out and returned home at the end of the first year, and prior to any engagements. I've been unable to find any additional information on Civil War service although family history states that he suffered from arthiritis from his time in service, sleeping in the open in cold conditions. He operated a saloon and boarding house after the war, hence the large number of names listed under his roof in the census of 1865 and 1870.
