I don't know if you still check this or not but I live in Louisville, Ms. and Michael Albert Linch is actually my Great Great Grandfather. He is my grandmother Jean Linch Calvert's grandfather. She has told me that story all of my life about how he fought so hard and close a bayonet cut and scared his cheek. She adds "rumored he rode his horse into a hotel lobby in Memphis when the war ended". We have several photos of him and I have also been able to visit the Masonic Temple he helped start outside of Louisville. Please let me know if I can help in anyway. I am always looking for new information on him.
