In Response To: Absent Wounded or Present? ()

Hello Jim, How I read his CMSR's is that he was Present for duty with the 13th Mississippi in September and October of 1863. It is interesting that on page 18 of his CMR's he requested a transfer on August 30, 1863 and it was received by the authorities on August 31, 1863. He requested that he be transferred to Meridian, GA. I wondered if it should have been Meridian, MS at first but if I remember right I think Longstreet took the railroad down to deep Georgia on flat cars and came north to the Ringgold, GA area just south of Chattanooga,TN. Meridian, GA is south of Savannah, GA in McIntosh County. If he did mean Meridian, GA then its almost like he knew of the 13th's plans. That in itself is interesting. His request was disapproved by the way. I think he moved out with his regiment from Virginia.
