I came across a post on this site written a few years ago for the dedication of plaque for the Capture of the USS Petrel near Yazoo City. I was wondering if there was anybody here affiliated with the Yazoo City Historical Society that would be interested in some information on the capture that I have. I have a letter from my Great Great Grandfather, CSA Captain James R. Chambers, one of the officers involved in taking the ship, describing the ensuing battle and capture.
