1st Mississippi Infantry

My great grandfather, Alfred W. Sandlin, was a member of Co. B, 1st Mississippi Infantry (Johnston's) during the battles of Port Hudson,LA. . Alfred held the rank of (3rd or 2nd) Lieutenant and at the surrender was placed in the Union prison system. (Cairo,Ill., Johnston's Island, Ohio, and Fort Delaware). The order of battle at Port Hudson for the battles of May-July 1863 list five companies of the 1st MS were with Col Steedman at the "Left Wing". It also list that five companies of the 1st MS were with Brig.Gen. Beall at the "Center". Ouestion: was Co. B located in the left wing or in the center? Thank you.
