Since the questioner doesn't know (or they wouldn't ask), they think any answer is a good one and happily broadcast it for all the world to enjoy MISINFORMATION. I am only slightly kidding. What I notice is that real Civil War researchers know the battle history of the Regiments. My original idea was just to say that So and So enlisted in Co X, XX MS Regiment. Then I read a little about them and became so impressed with the hardships of the units. So, now I would like to at least honor the veteran by naming a couple of places they served and where the Regiment was when the war ended. Can I post an inquiry about one of the Regiments and just wait for someone to comment on it? I know that I can find some of the histories on Ancestry.com. I don't want to go too far afield of your plans for this site.
