I recently found out that Joab Brown is my Great Grandfather. He died in San Saba in March 1926. He and Mack killed Griffith for his complicity in the hanging murder of their brother Asa R Brown in feb of 1889. It seems Mack served time in Huntsville for the murder which was lowered to manslaughter.
