Hey Jeff ... cleared my in stack a bit and now I'm waiting for your book to arrive. I noticed in the numbers that you state 3,000 Confederates at the Battle of Raymond. Are you discounting Wirt Adam's 800 man (1st Mississippi Cavalry and 20th Mississippi Mounted Infantry) ad-hoc brigade and WHT Walker's 300 men of the 3rd KY mounted infantry, who showed up and provided rear-guard support for the retreat? It puzzles me that everyone seems to leave them out of the battle, ignoring Adams' entry in the O.R. claiming otherwise.
