The steamer “City of Madison” for New Orleans-St “Hastings” today-and St “Belle Creole” tomorrow for Red River subject to your order and will be ready to [receive] the sick at once as stated.
7/19/63 Delhi La to Maj Gen Smith in charge of paroled prisoners Vicksburg-I am directed by General P O Hebert cdg Northern District of La in response to your favor of 16th inst to state that arrangements will be made at Alexandria to receive the sick and wounded prisoners referred to in your communication.
The low state of the Oauchita River will prevent a steamer being sent from Monroe with convenience.
