This post concerns Georgia, my home, though my roots are in Mississippi. In today's AJC, (the Atlanta paper), there was a note concerning tomorrow's Sunday paper: "Real sons" of Confederate veterans are still living: It mentions H.V. Booth of Elberton, GA and shows a photo of him at age six with his father, a guard at Andersonville. He is 91 yrs old now and his father looks to be perhaps 80 in the photo. It mentions another son of a Confederate veteran, living in Vidalia, Ga. H. V. remembered three sons in GA, however one seems to have already passed away.
If I can find a way to share tomorrow's article, I will. Perhaps someone can post a link from the AJC.com website. Do we know of any Mississippians who's fathers served in the CSA?
