MS CS portraits
I just wanted to let folks know that Grady Howell (greatest living MS CS historian) is still looking for pictures of MS CS soldiers in uniform for Vol V of "For Dixie Land, I'll Take My Stand," his multi-volume reference work on MS CS soldiers. If you have pictures of MS CS soldiers IN UNIFORM, please mail a copy of same, along with info identifying the soldier (and his rank, company, and unit, if known, as well as any information on his wounding, death, or capture) to: Grady Howell, Chickasaw Bayou Press, 103 Trace Harbour Road, Madision, MS 39110. When your picture of your CS ancestor/relation is published and copies of the book end up in archives and libraries, then many, many more descendants and researchers will be able to enjoy that picture and take renewed pride in their Confederate forebear. Please consider submitting any identified photos of MS CS soldiers you may have today! Thanks! -- Jim Huffman, Gainesville Vols, SCV Camp 373, Pearl River County, MS
