This info came from Mr. George Purvis' first note written to me on 8/8/10. Thank you for your interest and if you can help me, please do. by the way, i googled the 29th infantry and found a list (partial?) of the men, submitted under Holmes County Military/Dixie Rifles. James Kirk is not listed. very confusing. Mr. Purvis explained to me that some of the regiments consolidated and that 29th merged with others, specifically 30th. If you read all my postings, they will enlighten you about the Kirks. N. J. Kirk
