Capt. William Walter Bagby, 6th Kentucky Infantry CSA, died in Okolona, MS, July 7, 1862, of the effects of a wound suffered during the battle of Shiloh. He was reported to have died at the home of Ed Trewitt, and according to family lore, was buried in the family plot of two maiden sisters who had helped care for him.

A family member found the gravesite several years ago while in military service (World War 2?) and photographed it, but the photograph has been lost, and the family is searching for this gravesite.
