My ancestor, James T. Edwards of Marshall County, MS died in the Civil War on 03 Jul 1863 but I have no information on where he died. He was a Pvt in the 12th MS Inf Co F. His widow, Louisa Lester Edwards, drew a pension for a number of years. I may need to go to Jackson, MS to review her widow's pension application. He was born about 1841. Does anyone have a way to check him out or any suggestions about how I should proceed to learn the circumstances of his death? Thank you.
