From my own personal military experience: Detailed means individuals of a one of more unit(s) assigned to perform a task under a general OIC or NCO even from another command - generally a very short term task such as unloading wagons for a couple days. By detached, it means a segment of one unit under their own officer are givien a mission that will separate them from the parent unit.
