Mississippi Burials, Augusta, Ga

In Magnolia Cemetery, Augusta, Ga., there is a Confederate section, containing 236 interments, all of which appear to have been for men who died during the war or perhaps immediatley after. Only 5 of the 236 are buried as unknowns. Although the small marble headstones give the names and in a majority of cases the state from which the man served, they do not provide a unit or other information except in a handful of instances where the original marker has been replaced with a VA issued marker.

Those buried there who are identified as being Mississippians include:

Wm. Huighes, Row 1, Grave 11
J. G. Hill, Row 1, Grave 19
L. W. Suggs, Row 1, Grave 29
