John C. Bounds-Jasper County

There is a John C. Bounds, Co. K, 37th MS Infantry from Jasper County, according to his service records. I'm trying to figure out who his father was. He shows up in the 1850 Jasper County census as 25 years old, wife is Martha and son is William Theodore. That is as far back as I've been able to go with the access I have to census records. He is either the son of Addison or William C. who also show up in the 1850 Jasper County census. Both Addison and William C. came from Tennessee and are more than likely related somehow. Some family trees list John C. as the son of Addison and others list him as the son of William C.

There is another John C. Bounds who is the son of Solomon Bounds (related to Addison) who shows up in the 1850 Harrison County census. He married Elizabeth and is buried in Lamar County. He has a grave marker indicating he served in the 37th. However, he evidently has been confused with the John C. Bounds of Jasper County.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
