Does anyone else have questions concerning the data?
I would like to get an overall feeling of others who have viewed the data. There are a few interesting questions arising, even from my simple question. I would contact NPS with these questions, but I have the feeling that they too may lack answers.
POSTED:Looks like a great question for the National Park Service to answer. Sorry I have my own opinion of the accuracy of the S&S system because there are so many duplications and transcription errors.

POSTED:Also, does that number include Mississippians serving in Union units based in other states? For example, I have some (read: "more than I care to admit") relatives who were born and raised in Mississippi but chose to enlist in the 1st New Orleans Infantry, which was a Union unit, and then returned home to Mississippi after their discharge. When you search for them on the NPS site, you have to select "Louisiana" as their state and not Mississippi even though they were not from Louisiana.
