If you have not read "The Widow of the South" by Robert Hicks, you should do so. Carrie McGavock devoted her life to taking care of the 1500 CSA soldiers buried in her back yard after the Battle of Franklin. The Carton plantation is part of the battlefield and is, I believe, the largest privately funded Civil War cemetery in the country. Very moving book and saving the battlefield is a great cause.
