My GGGG-Grandfather was Isaac Nelson Brumfield. Does anyone know anything of any Brumfield's who served?...from Walthall/Pike counties and into Louisiana? I was told he was in 2nd Regiment, Mississippi Infantry (State Troops) (Quinn's) and was listed as a deserter. That was proven false. He went home on leave sometime around Christmas and managed to buy a horse. He returned to service but, living on the MS/LA state line, he decided to join the Cavalry...3rd Regiment, Louisiana Cavalry (Wingfield's)
I would LOVE any info anyone may have on him.
