Any connection to this man from Co. H 7th Mississippi. Co. H was raised in Pike County. I know that Rayburn and Reburne were interchangeable spellings. The Redwine, I truly believe, was a transcription error that has continued for years. I saw the copy of the roll and it looks more like Reburne than Redwine, but it could have easily been misread.

Lest We Forget Roster of the 7th Mississippi
"Reburne, R. L. or P.L. Pvt, 2nd Lt. [See Redwine] Co. H 7th Miss.

Redwine, P. L. Pvt. Co. H 7th Miss./ 2nd Lt. from Co. G 1st Miss.(the only man of the 1st Miss. to stay in the 7th Miss.); Absent sick Sept. 18, 1864 as 2nd Lt. [R.L. Redwine, 2nd lt.] On Last roll 8-64 as on surgeon’s certificate 8-18-64) (See also Reburne, in Stevens Research; believe Redwine is a transcription error-RJS)."

This may be a long shot since the man was not from Pike county; he joined the 1st Regt. Miss. Inf. in North Mississippi. That unit was decimated by sickness in Kentucky and after the Battle of Shiloh was carried as a part of the 7th Mississippi. Most men were placed in Company H because that company had a latrge number of killed and injured in the railroad collision at Ponchatoula just prior to March while the 7th Miss. was traveling to join Johnston's Army in Tennessee. Most men of the 1st Miss. returned when the regiment was re-formed. Some went to the 41st Miss; Redburne or Redwine stayed with the 7th Miss.
If you have any information on this man let me know.
