Thank you Mr. Purvis for explaining! I was a bit confused until I realized my great-grandmother's maiden name was Pittman before she married Sedgie Wilson Pittman. I have traced her Pittman family line but have yet to trace my great-grandfather's side. Ollie (Pittman) Pittman was my great-grandmother. She was the daughter of Walter Grey Pittman who was the son of Noah William Pittman. I guess my GGG-grandfather didn't actually fight...but my GGG-uncles certainly did! :)
