I knew about the Ford home in Columbia.This exipedition started in Baton Rouge,La on Nov.27,1864 ended up in West Pascagoula, Miss. on Dec13, 1864.They crossed the Pearl River via a pontoon bridge some where aruond the Ford home or Sandy Hook,Miss.The expedition consisted of 4500 Union troops.I have nerly got a day-by-day acount of this expedtion.This fairly close to where I live which is in Mobile ,Al.If you or any one else like more infro this e-mail me at edjmiller@comcast.net.
