Thanks so much for your information Alan. "Assassinated" was the word also used by Stephen's mother in the family bible. Stephen is buried in Fulton and my daughter (who is 11) and I hope to request a marker for him and have it placed on his grave. We live in Tennessee and will be checking with folks to help with this long distance endeavor over the holidays.

Can you tell me how to obtain a copy of Stephen's complete military file? Are they in Jackson? I have copies from family members but doubt if they are complete.
