Re: AL soldier's death in Corinth in 1864

Nedra,

If memory serves me correctly, the 17th Alabama Infantry was in Hoods army at that time, which was during Hoods Tennessee Campaign. This army fought battles at Columbia, Tenn. on Nov 24-29, Spring Hill, Tenn. on Nov 29, and Franklin, Tenn. on Nov 30. It is a possibility that David Pearson may have been wounded early in the battle of Columbia and was evacuated to Corinth were he died. I think the Spring Hill and Franklin battles may have been too late in the month for him to have been evacuated to Corinth and still pass away in the month of November.

It is also entirely possible that he died from an illness/injury/wound suffered during the armys march from Atlanta, Ga. to Florence, Ala.

Hope this helps
Kenny
