Thanks for reminding us all of the Sharpsburg anniversary. The 2nd Mississippi anchored the left flank of Law's brigade that day. My great-grandfather was wounded in both legs in the Cornfield, along with most of the rest of the regiment. Colonel Stone, Lt Colonel Humphreys and Major Blair were all wounded during the Cornfield counterattack and retreat.
