Civilian Support During the War

I've come across several of my ancestors listed as civilians who sold goods to the Confederate Army. In particular I am interested in William A. Cutts and Catherine Avery, both listed as having provided supplies and both are referenced to Nathaniel Avery. I can't find any records on Nathanial Avery. I know he enlisted in Winston County, and I read somewhere that he died while in the military, but I don't know when or where. I can't find his grave listed in Winston County. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is there another site that shares information about individuals that provided goods to the military during the war?

Thanks,
Wendy
