Pvt. T. H. Tallent's residence is listed as Chickasaw County on a roster of soldiers surrendered by Gen. Taylor at Citronelle, Alabama on May 4, 1865. He is listed as a member of Company F / 2nd. Batt. Mississippi Cavalry and was paroled May 14, 1865 at Columbus, Mississippi.

He is listed as T.H. Tullent, Company F / 2nd. Battalion Mississippi Cavalry Reserves at this site.

Lt. Col. J. B. Baskin was the commander of the 2nd. Battalion Mississippi Cavalry Reserves and also appears on this surrender roster, his residence is not noted but he is enumerated in the 1860 Chickasaw County Census. Family researchers at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ give his full name as Joseph Berry Baskin.

This is as close as I could find to a Baskin's Battalion from Chickasaw County, hope it helps.
