During the siege the 4th Mississippii was in Baldwin's Brigade, M. L. Smith's Division on the North Central porition of the siege line. Baldwin's brigade's right located at the Riddle House just to the left of the Stokade Redan.

Following signing their paroles, they marched out of Vicksburg on the evening of July 11, 1863 at the head of Smith's division.

The marched to Enterprise, Mississippi where they went into Parole Camp.
