HI,
This subject hits close to home. A very dear family friend has been buried in this cemetary in either 2004/2005 Her name was Ever Lee Daniels and there seems to be no listing for her, or even a tombstone for her. When my dad was a kid, James Croft, Miss Eva (we were taught to call her) took care of him and his syblings while my grandparents worked. I have read Laouida Dunns plight and i do soo agree with her words of the cemetary being taken care of. My brother Lonnie Croft is very interested in contacting Ms Dunn about cleaning up and restoring this cemetary as it seems to be one of the oldest ones in the state of Mississippi, which is terribly sad that its come to this condition. As a child I had always heard spooky things about Old Greensboro, as many other cemetaries. Our fear is they will one day plow the cemetary under. I live in colorado and the last 8 yrs i have been here I have seen 3 older cemetraires turned into pastures or fields for growing hay. To me that is a disgrace. MY own husband tells me, that there used to be an old one on our property where spanish conquistadors and indians were buried or the poor who could not be buried in the "upper class" cemetaries. Something sure needs to be done to preserve our history. A group of folks with some equipment and just a bit of will power would refurbish the beautiful grounds of these old resting places of many people. Thank you for allowing me to write a message here
