Sorry, I checked Marion, Lauderdale Springs and Rosehill all of which have numbers of CSA soldiers. Unfortunately, I did not find Mr. Pittman's name. However, if he died in a private residence, he may have been buried in a local (nearby) cemetery. I have printed listings for most which I will check as time permits.
Kenneth Byrd, who posted to this thread a bit earler, and you have given me an idea. I keep a personal "watch list" with names of the most recent inquiries. As I do my research, I also check the list as I go. It now occurs to me that it might be a good thing to publish the list on the web site. Researchers invariably go to the search engine first with the name of the individual they are interested in. If they happen to be searching for someone on the list, it will pop up on the search. If they have informaton about your ancestor, perhaps seeing the name will prompt them to contact someone.
It's just an idea but if I decide to go ahead, I'll start another thread and let everyone know what I'm up to. As always, comments on this idea or any other suggestions for Lauderdale County, MS content are truly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill
