He enlisted Aug. 8, 1861, transferred to 2nd Co I, 38th regiment, GA Inf. Appointed Sergeant May 2, 1862. Transferred to 2nd Co. A. 60th Regiment, Ga Inf. March 1, 1863. "deserted" Feb. 19 1864.
