In continuing my search for J.B. McCord, I found the following information on cemetries in Columbus, MS.

There were apparently 4 City cemeteries at one time. Two surviving, Friendship & Sandfield. Two lost, one underneath the parking lot at the First Episcopal Church, the oldest known city cemetery. It was in use until around 1850. Another in squares 32 & 73 north of Main Street, today occupied in part by the new police department building. This cemetery was in use from at least 1840 until the late 1860s, perhaps later.

McCord is not listed among those known to be buried at Friendship or Sandfield.
