If you want to know the value of the letter, transcribe it, copy it, scan it and save it. (NO Charge or $.10/page if you have to pay for copies).

Post it on EBay and let the highest bidder have it and then they can try to sell it again.

OR.... post it on the message board for members of the men's families to see. (No Charge).

Keep the original and send a copy to the State archives.($3.00-$5.00 postage).

Then you can reap the rewards of saving a piece of history and making someone's descendant proud to know that another part of their ancestor's service has been remembered. (Priceless)
