For those that may be interested on Sunday, 7 October, there will be a dedication ceremony for the Mississippi monument at the Allatoona Pass battlefield. Members of the Georgia Division of Reenactors will be on hand to demonstrate musket firing, and cannon firing demonstrations.

Currently, the new Mississippi Monument will be dedicated and placed next to the two other monuments on site, the Missouri (CS) and Texas monuments. This event also celebrates Georgia State Parks officially taking over responsibilities of maintaining the Allatoona battlefield.
