Hello Matthew, I live in Tehachapi, and I do the Confederate History for Simpson, County, and Mississippi. Glad to know there's more here in California interested in my previous and ancestral home state.
Celeste, I wish there were monuments in Simpson County but I do not know of any. The county seat, Westville, was abandoned in about 1900 and a new one built in Mendenhall. Magee, the largest town, was founded about the same time Mendenhall was and as far as I know they both lack any monuments. The older town of Harrisville may have one but I doubt it. Westville is were the companies were mustered in and marched off to training camps, but the only thing significant left of the old town is the cemetery. There is at least one Confederate head stone there.
