Re: identified "unknown" soldiers

Anything is possible in the movies.

At this time Lewis' Alabama Cavalry Battalion consisted of two companies stationed at the Camp of Instruction, Talladega, Ala. Officers and men were acting under orders of Major William C. Walthall, camp commandant.

Having just watched the movie "Stripes" again, the suggestion that some of Lewis' men "straggled" into Mississippi left me thinking of Bill Murray and Harold Ramis as Confederate conscripts who decide to visit their girlfriends at a Mississippi plantation. After rescuing fellow trainees being held in a military post behind Federal lines, they return to Talladega to a hero's welcome.

If the South had won the war, would this movie be titled "Stars and Bars"? As I said, anything is possible in the movies!
