Sorry for the late reply. I am having to work over here in Singapore, so I don't have my notes with me. Most of Quinn's was at Camp Milldale as stated above. Though I believe there were about 900 on roll, I think they only had 96 present at one time. In the letters Ron speaks about Micajah talk of hearing the batteries dueling with some of the ships of the Union fleet. Also talks about transportation problems from Jackson, recieving their old rusty muskets back, sans bayonets, and asking how to clean them etc.
I SHOULD be home late next week, and will go thru my stuff to see if I can provide anymore information.
Ron, I've found 2 more letter collections from members of Quinn's so I might head in that diresction a bit with my research. I was thinking of the 9th SS, but they seemed to have been too busy to write much.
