I know only one fact about Jeffrey Forrest.
My great aunt's father-in-law, William Stewart Herron of the 7th Tenn. Cav., was one of the men who helped recover his body.
Herron was proud all the rest of his life that he had been able to help with that so the story was passed down-
not totally accurate, but passed down to my cousins.
They still take great pride in that.
That tells me that Jeffrey Forrest was regarded highly.
Just being connected to the 7th Tenn. and Nathan Bedford Forrest in any shape was/still is something to be proud of
is my opinion.
