My wife has 3 gg-uncles in the 2nd Mississippi Cavalry, Co C. There is an excellent short history of this unit on the Mississippi Sons of Confederate Veterans website at http://mississippiscv.org/MS_Units/2nd_MS_Cav.htm .
In March of 1863, the 2nd Mississippi (aka, 4th Mississippi) Cavalry was a part of Forrest's Cavalry and was raiding and fighting in Central Tennessee. If you'll go to the link below, you "should" be at a page from John Allen Wyeth's "Life of General Nathan Bedford Forrest" which references an action on the 27th of March which included Company "K".
