W. Benjamin J. Barnett

Seeking info on W. Benjamin J. Barnett, born in S.C. ca 1839, in Spartanburg District. He enlsited in the Gist Rifles, Co D, Hampton Legion Infantry (a company raised from the neighborhood of Williamston, Anderson Dist) and was mustered in on the initial muster roll at Camp Hampton, Columbia on 14 Jun 61. He was shown present on all the existant muster rolls until WIA (fractured left humus and injured elbow, per cuasualty report in newspaper) at Seven Pines (Fair Oaks) 31 May 62; he was in the Bird Island Hospital, Richmond in Jun 1862. His arm atrophied, and he was on wound furlough through 12 Feb 63, when he was discharged on a surgeon's certificate. He reenlisted in Co D 28 Nov 64, the company now being MOunted Infantry, but was on special furlough (whatever that means!) on theNOv-Dec 64 roll. Her returned to duty, but was on furlough from 21 Feb through Apr 65. He was living at Honea Path per the 1860 census. He married Susan A. McMurtray in Mississippi 5 Aug 68. Records of Camden Lodge # 74 show he jopined that lodge in 1869, and wqas an officer from 1870-73. He was demitted in 1873, whatever that means. I have lost track of him from that point. Can anyone help me on this. He is listed on the Mississippi records as W. B. J. Barnett.
