According to the O.R. Union accounts say two of the three guns were put out of action. Confederate say only one gun burst. In late 1861 Bledsoe's battery consisted of one 12-pounder Napoleon and two six pounders (O.R.). Later in '64 it consisted of four 12 pounder Napoleons (O.R.).

According to history one gun was captured during the Mexican War and was made of church bells. It's name was 'Old Sac' and it survived the Civil War.
