If you live in Central Mississippi or plan a trip there in the near future, you might consider visiting the Mississippi Department of Archives & History in Jackson, MS. If you do not live in Mississippi and/or would like an expert to help you with your search, you can order service records by clicking on the ad box at the top of the page or the link below this message.

Alan Pitts is our primary Confederate researcher and many here on the Mississippi message board are familiar with his outstanding work.

Finally, you can order these records from the National Archives in Washington, but an experience with the NARA can be less than desirable, based on the person you get who is processing your order and if even the slightest complication exists for your ancestors files.
