Researching David C. Kelley

Hello, Civil War buff,
I am doing research on David C. Kelley, the fighting parson.
Kelley was closely associated with Nathan Bedford Forrest’s Cavalry, from 7/1861 to 6/1862 and from 7/1864 to 4/1865. I am not certain about Kelley’s CW activities from 6/1862 to 7/1864.

I try to construct Kelley CW activities outline. If I make mistakes, please correct me, and also please fill in the blank on any omission. Your help is greatly appreciated.

This is my understanding.
When Forrest was sent by Bragg to start to organize a new command, David C. Kelley would command Forrest’s Old Regiment in 6/1862. Kelley stayed with the Army of Mississippi. Bragg promoted Joseph Wheeler to command the reorganized Cavalry of the Western theater. They advanced to Kentucky and fought the battle of Perryville. Then they fought the battle of Murfreesboro (Stones River). Next they fought the battle of Chickamauga. And next, he helped to cut off the supply line of Rosecran’s army and trapped them in Chattanooga. After the defeat of the battle of Chattanooga, he helped the reminant of the Army to retreat. Then he helped Longstreet to siege Knosville against Burnside.

If I make mistakes, please correct me. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Gordon K.
