Andrew Jackson Broom was born in Anderson District, S.C. in 1845. He enlisted in D/Hampton Legion Infantry (later Mounted Infantry) at Petersburg, Va 1 Aug 63. Broom was present on all muster rolls of the Legion trhrough Dec 64, and was paroled, but was dismounted, at Appomattox. He moved to Mississippi postwar, and died in 1925, in Panola County. I do not know any of the preciuse dates of birth or death, nor where he was buried. Can anyone provide me with any information concerning this man?
