I believe he could have been the same man as the man in Hoskins "Brookhaven Light Artillery", but have no proof. Have you ordered the records of both men. That should be very helpful. The 7th Mississippi and the "Brookhaven Light Artillery" were stationed together on the Mississippi coast early in the war at Shieldsboro and Pass Christian. Men from the 7th Mississippi were also assigned to detached duty on the steamer Oregon to assist the artillery.
