Julius Valentine Harbort

Julius Valentine Harbort died in Nevada, Missouri on 25 Dec 1923. He was a member of Company D/Hampton Legion, transferred to the Field and Staff of the Legion as a bandsman, and surrendered at Appomattox. Originally from South CVarolina, he moved, first to Nebraska, and then to Des Moines, iowa, after the war, where he was a farmer. His very brief obituary states that he died in Nevada, Mo, but he was brought back to Des Moines for burial. Can anyone provide me with any information on his life in Missouri. I suspect, without knowing, that he died at the home of a relative.
His surname is spelled all over the map, Harbort, Halbert, even Herbert. But he was buried under the name given first in the text.
Thanks in advance!
