Bruce, Can you post the article about McCoy dying from a lung hemorrage? Here's one of the newspaper reports that might have prompted "the comrade's" response. Thank's for posting that!

This is one of the reports that may have sparked the letter sent to the St Louis Dispatch claiming that "...McCoy had died of lung hemorraging on the comrade's farm on the San Marcos River in TX on 1-11-1874. "

St Louis, April 11. The St Louis Democrat has information that Arthur McCoy, who has been connected with the notorious James and Younger brothers, has been shot and killed in Arkansas, six weeks ago, and Frank James was wounded in the fight by the party who was in pursuit of them.
