Sorry: Took as in the Union forces. The data I first sent you shows full name of Benjamin Franklin Jones in those Federal Mo. Units.
Here is the info of Benjamin Jones(does not show a middle initial or Jefferson) but he is in the CSA Mo 12th. Are you sure your relative wasn't in the Union units instead(or could this other Benjamin Franklin Jones? ); be related to him. Lots of Arkansas boys enlisted in Misssouri units on both sides and vice versa.

The only Benjamin F. jones I can find sofar was listed in the 1850 census age 16 born in arkansas but living withe the william M. Williams family in Hemstead co. Red Land Ark. listed as a laborer and born in Arkansas. Mr Williams is from Tn.

Residence was not listed;
Enlisted as a Private (date unknown).

He also had service in:
